12 April 215: Suleiman* and Bilqees; Scenes from the Day of Judgment

12 April 2015: Suleiman* and Bilqees and Scenes from the Day of Judgment

Lives of the Prophets: Suleiman* and Bilqees (part 1)

"He inspected the birds, and said: "What is the matter that I see not a hoopoe? Or is he among the absentees? I will surely punish him with a severe torment, or slaughter him, unless he brings me a clear reason."

But the hoopoe stayed not long, he came up and said: "I have grasped (the knowledge of a thing) which you have not grasped and I have come to you from Sheba with true news. I found a woman ruling over them, and she has been given all things that could be possessed by any ruler of the earth, and she has a great throne. I found her and her people worshipping the sun instead of Allah, and Satan has made their deeds fair seeming to them, and has barred them from Allah's Way, so they have no guidance."

Al-La (this word has two interpretations) [As Satan has barred them from Allah's Way} so that they do not worship (prostrate before) Allah, or so that they may worship (prostrate before) Allah, Who brings light to what is hidden in the heavens and the earth, and knows what you conceal and what you reveal. Allah, La ilaha illa Huwa (none has the right to be worshipped but He), the Lord of the Supreme Throne!

(Suleiman) said: "We shall see whether you speak the truth or you are one of the liars. Go with this letter of mine, and deliver it to them, then draw back from them, and see what answer they return."

She said: "O chiefs! Verily! Here is a delivered to me a noble letter. Verily! It is from Suleiman and verily! It (reads): 'In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful; Be you not exalted against me, but come to me as Muslims (true believers who submit to Allah with full submission)."

She said: "O chiefs! Advise me in this case of mine. I decide no case till you are present with me." They said: "We have great strength, and great ability for war, but it is for you to command; so think over what you will command." [TMQ 27:20-44]

Yemeni Dams
The people of Yemen (Sanaa) were quite renowned for their irrigation system due the scarcity of rain they made large dams with a clever method of channeling water all over their cities. The rain they would receive was usually seasonal and mentioned in the Qur’an (Mausum) – a word that we know in English as Monsoon!

The Hoopoe Brings Information to Suleiman
He set out to find the hoopoe bird, which could detect water under the ground. He sent signals all over the hoopoe to call on him, but it was nowhere to be found. In anger, he declared that unless the bird had a good reason for its absence, he would punish it severely. The hoopoe eventually came to Suleiman and explained the reason for its delay. "I have discovered something of which you are not aware. I have come from Sheba (Sab'a) with important news." Suleiman became curious, and his anger subsided. The bird continued: "Sab'a is ruled by a queen named Bilqees, who has plenty of everything, including a splendid throne. But in spite of all this wealth, Satan has entered her heart and the hearts of her people. She rules their minds completely. I was shocked to learn that they worship the sun instead of Allah the Almighty."
To check the hoopoe's information, Suleiman sent a letter to the queen with the bird. He instructed the bird to remain hidden and to watch everything.

* The group undertook an exercise to write a letter to the Queen from Suleiman*

The Queen of Sheba makes counsel
The hoopoe dropped the letter in front of the queen and flew away to hide. She excitedly opened and read it: "Verily! It is from Suleiman, and verily! It reads: 'In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, and Most Merciful; be you not exalted against me, but come to me as Muslims (true believers who submit with full submission).'" ( TMQ 27:30-31).
The queen was very disturbed and hurriedly summoned her advisors. They reacted as to a challenge, for they felt that there was someone challenging them, hinting at war and defeat, and asking them to submit to his conditions. They told her that they could only offer advice, but it was her right to command action – as she was the Commander-in-Chief. She asked for their advice as she was a wise ruler but they said that if she wanted to go to war they were capable but the final decision was hers alone to command.
She sensed that they wanted to meet Suleiman's invasion threat with a battle. However, she told them: "Peace and friendship are better and wiser; war only brings humiliation, enslaves people and destroys the good things. I have decided to send gifts to Suleiman, selected from our most precious treasure. The courtiers who will deliver the gifts will also have an opportunity to learn about Suleiman and his military mighty."

Women Rulers
We then briefly talked about the hadith of the Prophet* about women rulers: "Narrated Abu Bakra: During the battle of Al-Jamal, Allah benefited me with a Word (I heard from the Prophet). When the Prophet heard the news that the people of the Persia had made the daughter of Khosrau their Queen (ruler), he said, "Never will succeed such a nation as makes a woman their ruler." [Bukhari]
This is not a prophesy about whether a nation will do well with a female ruler / leader but a statement that Allah does not permit (in Islam) for a woman to be a ruler (like Khalife) – as the issue was linked to ‘Success’ which equates to the Hereafter.
This does not mean that women are less intelligent than men, but it is a ruling that only Allah Knows the wisdom behind and it is best for both men and women. As for other positions than leadership like Judiciary, electing a Khaleefah, elect and be elected in Majlis al-Ummah (Ummah Council), and other such legitimate jobs that are not part of leadership, are permissible for her to carry out. Hence, women can become general judges and Hisba judges, This is permissible for both men and women.
Looking at the life of women during the time of the Prophet* women took part in life just like men, they carried intellectual and political struggle. The first martyr in Islam was Summayah, a woman, who carried the Dawah with the Prophet* Umm Umara and Umm Manee' were amongst the people who gave a pledge of support to the Prophet* in the second Aqabah pledge, with the men. Women treated the injured in the battlefield, they enjoined the good and forbade the evil, and they accounted the Khaleefah. Truly they were the twin-halves of men. All of this was according to the Shariah rule that regulated the life of men and women, and women were not a wasted effort, or house-ridden never leaving them.
And in the end, the best picture that portrays women in the Islamic life are given in the saying of Allah: "The believing men and believing women are allies of one another. They enjoin what is right and forbid what is wrong and establish prayer and give zakah and obey Allah and His Messenger. Those - Allah will have mercy upon them. Indeed, Allah is Exalted in Might and Wise. Allah has promised the believing men and believing women gardens beneath which rivers flow, wherein they abide eternally, and pleasant dwellings in gardens of perpetual residence; but approval from Allah is greater. It is that which is the great attainment" (At-Tawba: 71-72)

The Day of Judgment
** Centre of the Universe video **

Here is the short video clip we saw:
... we are not the centre of Universe

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H2d7czQbeOk

Size of the Universe
There are seven heavens. We are living in the lowest heaven, and this heaven, compared to the one above it, is like a ring in a desert. Every star that we see and every galaxy that is discovered are all within the lowest heaven. Allah says: “Verily! We have adorned the near heaven with the stars (for beauty).” (TMQ 37:6)
We are talking about light years of distance – the sun is about 8 minutes in light years. And the closest star is 4.25 light years. And each heaven is like a ring in a desert compared to the one above it. And the seventh heaven, compared to the al-Kursi of Allah is like a ring in a desert, and the Kursi compared to the Throne is like a ring in a desert.

Events of that Day:
The Wrapping of the Heavens
Allah will grab the earth with His Hand and then He will wrap the sky like a scroll – that is how easy it will be for Allah to sweep up this earth. Allah says, “Verily! We have adorned the near heaven with the stars (for beauty).” (TMQ 37:6) To Allah, it is just zeena (adornment). This vast creation, that we are struggling to understand, is just adornment to Allah, and on that Day, it will be wrapped in His Hand.
Allah says, “They made not a just estimate of Allah such as is due to Him. And on the Day of Resurrection the whole of the earth will be grasped by His Hand and the heavens will be rolled up in His Right Hand….” (TMQ 39:67)
“And [remember] the Day when We shall roll up the heaven like a scroll rolled up for books. As We began the first creation, We shall repeat it. [It is] a promise binding upon Us. Truly, We shall do it)” (TMQ 21: 1 04)

Spreading of the Earth
On the Day when the earth will be changed to another earth and so will be the heavens, and they (all creatures) will appear before Allah, the One, the Irresistible.” (TMQ 14:48)
lbn 'Abbaas said "Some things will be added to it and some will be taken away, and its hills, mountains, valleys and trees will disappear, and it will be spread out like an 'Ukaazi carpet.” The earth will change. It will not be in the same state. Some of the changes that will happen to the earth:
  • It’s going to be spread. It won’t be a sphere any more (with gravity / mass). Muddat means that it is flattened and then spread. “And when the earth is stretched forth, And has cast out all that was in it and became empty.” (84:3-4) When the earth is spread, everything will be released on it; it doesn’t have its mass any more.
  • The Prophet* says, “The people will be assembled on the day of judgment on a wide land that is Afraa (pale - not bright white, but pale white) and Naqi’ (used to describe the land in the hadith) is very fine, pure sand”.
  • The Prophet* says in another hadith that the earth will be pressed and flattened out, nevertheless, the son of Adam will not have a position except the spot he is standing on. Allah will assemble the entire creation – the humans, the jinns, the animals and insects – it will be so crowded that you will only have the spot to stand which is covered by your feet. People will be crowded and pressing against each other on that difficult day.

What will happen to the mountains?
Allah also says, “And the earth and the mountains shall be removed from their places, and crushed with a single crushing.” (69:14) Allah also says, “And the mountains will be like carded wool,” (101:5) and “And when the mountains are blown away” (77:10)
“Then when the Trumpet will be blown with one blowing [the first one]. And the earth and the mountains shall be removed from their places, and crushed with a single crushing. Then on that Day shall the [Great] Event befall) (TMQ 69: 13-15)
“Nay! When the earth is ground to powder., (TMQ 89: 21)
“On the Day when the earth and the mountains will be in violent shake, and the mountains will be a heap of sand poured out.) (TMQ 73: 14)
And the mountains will be like flakes of wool.) (TMQ 70: 9)
And the mountains will be like carded wool) (TMQ 101: 5)
(And the mountains shall be moved away from their places and they will be as if they were a mirage) (TMQ 78: 20)
“And when the mountains are blown away.” (TMQ 77: 10)
“(And [remember] the Day We shall cause the mountains to pass away [like clouds of dust], and you will see the earth as a levelled plain .. ) (TMQ 18: 47)
“And they ask you concerning the mountains: say, 'My Lord will blast them and scatter them as particles of dust. Then He shall leave them as a level smooth plain. You will see therein nothing crooked or curved. ' (TMQ 20: 105-107)

The bursting forth and overflowing of the seas / Oceans
These seas which cover the greater part of our planet, in which such great numbers of creatures live and on the surface of which ships come and go, will on that Day burst forth. In modem times, we have learned of the great horror which is unleashed by the explosion of atoms which are smaller than water molecules, so how will it be then when the molecules of water in these vast oceans explode, when the seas tum to blazing fire? You can imagine how these huge seas will be when they become inflammable, how they will look with flames reaching up to the sky.
Allah says: “And when the seas are burst forth [got dried up) (TMQ 82: 3)
And when the seas are become as blazing Fire or shall overflow) (TMQ 81: 6)
The mufassireen of the past thought that this referred to the sea overflowing and breaking its barriers, so that the fresh water would be mixed with the salt water, and it would become one body of water. 8 But what we have mentioned is more obvious and closer to the meaning, because the idea of exploding fits the idea of busting forth. And Allah knows best.

The shaking and splitting of the sky
Our beautiful blue sky, which lifts our spirits when we look at it, will be terribly shaken: “On the Day when the heaven will shake with a dreadful shaking. (TMQ 52: 9)
Then it will be rent asunder, “When the heaven is cleft asunder. (TMQ 82: 1)
When the heaven is split asunder and listens and obeys its Lord, - and it must do so. (TMQ 84: 1-2)
At that time it will become weak and tom up, like a great palace, solidly built with string pillars, when it is shaken by an earthquake, so you see how, after being strong, it becomes broken, weak and cracked. “And the heaven will be rent asunder, for that Day it [the heaven] will be frail and tom up) (TMQ 69: 16)
The colour of this beautiful blue sky will also change. On that Day the sky will start to take on different colours, like dyes - red and yellow and green, and then blue, as Allah says: “Then when the heaven is rent asunder, and it becomes rosy or red like red oil, or red hide)(TMQ 55: 3 7)
It is narrated from lbn 'Ab baas that on that Day, the sky will be like a bay mare which is yellow in the spring and red in the winter; when it becomes very cold, its colour changes - meaning that it will be of several colours.
The heavens would be moving above your head, and you would see it cracking here and there. Holes will be popping out in the sky; it will crack. Eventually, what will happen is “And the heaven will split asunder, for that Day it (the heaven will be frail (weak), and torn up” (69:16). It will keep on cracking and falling apart until it is frail and weak. Waahiya means frail and weak. And it will start falling apart.

The rolling up of the sun, the eclipse of the moon and the falling of the stars
This sun which we see shining every day, that fills our world with light and gives us light and energy which we cannot do without in order to see and move, and which is needed by every living creature and every plant that grows, will be collected and rolled up, and its light will vanish, as Allah says: “When the sun kuwwirat [wound round and lost its light and is overthrown].) (TMQ 81: 1)
“So, when the sight shall be dazed, And the moon will be eclipsed) (TMQ 75: 7-8)
“When the stars have fallen and been scattered) (TMQ 82: 2)
“And when the stars shall fall” (TMQ 81: 2) - The words translated here as "fallen" and "scattered" come from roots which indicate "being poured out"

Allah will Assemble All
Allah will assemble everyone, whether this human was lost in the depths of the ocean or this human being was in the dungeons of the earth. Allah will bring them all together. Allah says: “[...] Wheresoever you may be, Allah will bring you together (on the Day of Resurrection). Truly, Allah is Able to do all things.” (2:148) Wherever you may be – even in outer space – Allah will bring you together, because all of this universe belongs to Allah.
Allah says, “We bought them together, we did not leave any one of them.” Even the animals will be included. Allah says, “When the wild beasts are herded together.” (81:5)
Abu Hurayrah says, “On the Day of Judgment, Allah will assemble all of the creation: the beasts, the birds, even the insects; everything. And Allah will be Just on that day, because His Name is the Just (al ‘Adl). And of the justice of Allah, Allah will take revenge for the goat that did not have horns from the goat that did have horns.”
After every dispute is settled, then Allah will tell the beasts and animals to be turaab – dirt; and they would turn into dirt. And that is when the non-believer would say, “I wish that I was dirt.” Allah says in the Qur’an, “And the non-believer will say, ‘I wish that I am dirt.’” The non-believer will wish they never lived or existed. This non-believer who was so careful to save money and live in this money and enjoy himself; he will wish he were dirt.

What is the Condition the People will be Resurrected in?
The Prophet* says, “You will be resurrected barefoot, naked and uncircumcised.” Then The Prophet* recited the ayah, where Allah says, “[...]as We began the first creation, We shall repeat it, (it is) a promise binding upon Us. Truly, We shall do it.” (21:104) When ‘Aa`isha heard this, she was concerned that men and women are going to be in the same place, naked. Allah’s Apostle said, “The people will be gathered barefooted, naked, and uncircumcised.” I said, “O Allah’s Apostle! Will the men and the women look at each other?” He said, “The situation will be too hard for them to pay attention to that.” [Bukhari]

Who is the first one whose grave will open?
Muhammad*, whose grave is in Medina, will be the first one whose grave will open up. The Prophet* says, “I am the leader of mankind on the day of judgement and I am the first one whose grave will open on the Day of Judgment.”
In another authentic hadith, a Muslim had a dispute with a Jew. The Jew said, “In the name of the One who revealed the tawrah on Musa” so this Muslim hit him and started praising Muhammad*. So the Jew came and complained to The Prophet*. The Prophet* said, “Do not prefer me over Musa, because I will be the first one to come out of his grave, but I will find that Musa is already holding onto the throne of Allah. So I do not know whether he was included in the ones who were dead in the first blow or not.”
What does this hadith mean – ‘do not say that I am better than Musa’? Obviously, The Prophet* did say in many ahaadith that he is the leader of mankind. We believe that The Prophet* is the greatest of all of the Prophets, but The Prophet* does not want us to say that when we are in a conversation with a non-believer because we are just putting down the Prophets just to make the non-believer upset. The Prophets of Allah belong to this Ummah, not to anybody else. Musa belongs to the Ummah of Islam. That’s why when The Prophet* went to Medina and saw the Jews fasting, he asked why they were fasting, and they said, “This is the day in which Allah has saved Musa from Firawn.” The Prophet* said, “Musa belongs to us more than he does to them, so we should fast this day.”
We should not go to the Jew and say, “Muhammad is better than your Prophet!” We should not go the Christian and say, “Muhammad is better than your Prophet!” We are putting the Messengers of Allah down; we need to show the respect we have for all Messengers, even though we believe Muhammad* is the one Allah chose out of all of his creation.

The Clothing Of Mankind On The Day Of Resurrection / Who Will be Dressed First?
We know that people are going to start out naked, but then Allah will dress them. The Prophet* says that the first one to be dressed on the day of judgement is Ibrahim [Abraham], the friend of Allah. The Prophet* said that he will be dressed in a dress from Jannah. Then The Prophet* says, “And then I will be dressed next with a dress from Jannah that no one would have similar to.” The Prophet* will be given the best dress, but the first to be dressed will be Ibrahim. And this is a blessing and uniqueness that Allah has given to Ibrahim.
The righteous will be clothed in noble garments, and the evildoers will be clothed in trousers of tar and a shield of scabs, and other awful garments. The first one among the slaves of Allah to be clothed will be the Prophet Ibrahim (Abraham), the Close Friend of the Most Merciful (Khaleel ar-Rahman). In Bukhari it is narrated that the Prophet* said: "The first of creation to be clothed on the Day of Resurrection will be Ibrahim al-Khaleel. "  'The first one to be clothed on the Day of Resurrection will be Ibrahim, who will be clothed in a garment from Paradise. A chair will be brought and placed to the right of the Throne, then I will be brought and clothed in a garment from Paradise, the like of which has never been seen."

Adhan in the Wilderness
The Prophet* said to a Bedouin, by the name of Abdur Rahman ibn Sa’Sa’, “I see that you love sheep and goats and the Bedouin life. If you are in the wilderness and it is time for salah, then raise your voice in adhan because whatever hears you – whether jinns or humans or anything – will witness for you on the day of judgment.” The mountains, rocks, animals, human beings and jinns will witness for you on the day of judgment. You are in harmony with creation; everything is Muslim except for the corrupt jinn and the corrupt Muslim.

Jannah Tips #1 - Garauntee Paradise: How to Erase 2500 Sins in 5 minutes per day

Abd-Allah ibn ‘Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) who said: “The Messenger of Allah* said: ‘There are two qualities, no Muslim man acquires them but he will enter Paradise, and they are simple and easy:
- He should glorify Allah (say Subhaan Allah) ten times immediately after each prayer, and
- praise Him (say Al-hamdu Lillaah) ten times and
- magnify Him (say Allaahu Akbar) ten times.’

I saw the Messenger of Allah* counting this on his fingers. He said: ‘That makes one hundred and fifty on the tongue and one thousand five hundred (hasanaat) in the scales.

- Glorifying Allah 100 times when one goes to bed

When you go to bed, glorify Him and praise Him and magnify Him One hundred times: that will be one hundred on the tongue and a thousand in the scales.

Who among you does 2,500 bad deeds in one day?’ They said:‘How could we not count (our sins)?’

He said: ‘The Shaytaan comes to any one of you whilst he is praying and says, Remember this, remember that, until he finishes his prayer and does not do (this dhikr), or he comes to him when he is lying down and makes him sleepy, until he falls asleep (without doing this dhikr).’” (Tirmidhi).

29 March 2015: Prophet Suleiman and Hud hud bird; Being resurrected

29 March 2015: Prophet Suleiman and Hud hud bird; Being resurrected

Lives of the Prophets: Suleiman* continued

Lessons from the Story of Suleiman* with the Ants

And there were gathered before Suleiman his hosts of jinn and men, and birds, and they all were set in battle order (marching forward). Till, when they came to the valley of the ants, one of the ants said: "O ants! Enter your dwellings, lest Suleiman and his hosts should crush you, while they perceive not." So he smiled, amused at her speech and said: "My Lord! Grant me the power and ability that I may be grateful for Your Favours which You have bestowed on me and on my parents, and that I may do righteous good deeds that will please You, and admit me by Your Mercy among Your righteous slaves." [TMQ Al-Naml 27: 17-19]

Allah tells the story of Suleiman* when he once rode out with his army of people and with Jinns escorting him, and the birds casting a shadow on him to shield him from the heat, " and they were all kept in order and ranks", which means the front lines were halted until the back lines would catch up with them so that no creature would overstep its limits.

Suleiman* was able to understand the speech of the ant and smiled out of joy and happiness for being solely chosen by Allah to be let in on this. Hence, all the gifts and blessings we enjoy from Allah we should be thankful for. All the achievements we amass, and all the possessions we gather – we should be thankful to Allah.

Suleiman* invokes Allah to enable him to thank Him for the Grace Allah has bestowed on him and the privilege that only he was granted. He also supplicates Him to enable him to do good deeds, and, should he die, to be resurrected together with the pious and the righteous of the servants of Allah. Hence we should always thank Allah for all the gifts and blessings from Allah.
We also learn of the responsibility the ant had to the Ummah of the ants. It was easy for the ant to run away but he chose to stay and warn the other ants because he knew this was his responsibility and that he would not survive without his Ummah. Living in this society we need to be aware of what is happening around us, and what is happening to other Muslims around the world and we should have a bond and responsibility to each other. We should know that, no matter how strong we think we are, we can never protect ourselves and deen unless we stay with the Ummah / Jamaah. Furthermore, as we mentioned last week – we should look for excuses for our fellow Muslims rather than being the first to blame / accuse them!

Suleiman*'s Story with the Hoopoe (Hud Hud) bird:

He inspected the birds, and said: "What is the matter that I see not the hoopoe? Or is he among the absentees? "I will surely punish him with a severe torment, or slaughter him, unless he brings me a clear reason." But the hoopoe stayed not long, he (came up and) said: "I have grasped (the knowledge of a thing) which you have not grasped and I have come to you from Saba' (Sheba) with true news "I found a woman ruling over them", she has been given all things that could be possessed by any ruler of the earth, and she has a great throne. "I found her and her people worshipping the sun instead of Allah, and Shaitan has made their deeds fair-seeming to them, and has barred them from (Allah's) Way, so they have no guidance," [As Shaitan has barred them from Allah's Way] so they do not worship (prostrate themselves before) Allah, Who brings to light what is hidden in the heavens and the earth, and knows what you conceal and what you reveal. Allah, La ilaha illa Huwa (none has the right to be worshipped but He), the Lord of the Supreme Throne! [Suleiman said: "We shall see whether you speak the truth or you are (one) of the liars "Go you with this letter of mine, and deliver it to them, then draw back from them, and see what (answer) they return." [TMQ Al-Naml 27: 20-28]

It is stated that the Hoopoe used to guide Suleiman* to places of water. Whenever he was in the desert, he would ask for him to be brought so as to locate water at great depths. The Hoopoe was able to see it just as a man is able to see the apparent objects above the surface of the earth, and it was capable of determining its depth, too. Once it specified the exact spot, Suleiman* would order the Jinns to dig up this place so that water would come gushing out.
Suleiman* was in the habit of inspecting the birds, and each day every species would delegate one of them to meet him. As a great leader he was aware of all his soldiers and subjects and cared after them. This is an important lesson for us that leaders to look after everybody.
The punishment for being absent was rather strict/severe but we should bear in mind that this is during a wartime operation as opposed to being during peacetime. Hence, the rules and regulations are often stricter because failure to obey commands in military matters can lead to severe consequences and death. This was highlighted when the archers failed to obey the command of the Prophet* during the Battle of Uhud to remain at their posts – and consequently they suffered a huge defeat.

We also mentioned the believer who was eager to accompany the Prophet* on the Battle of Tabuk but did not obey his command bring only a strong camel. When he died on the journey the Prophet* cautioned people from claiming he was a martyr. Hence the rules are quite strict. We compared this to when the Prophet* sent out one of his young servants (Anas bin Malik) to get something from the market but he got distracted and lost the money whilst playing with some other boys. When the Prophet* found him he excused his behaviour and told him to carry on playing.

The bird returned and mentioned that he had new and specific knowledge that would interest the king. He explained what he had found and that despite being a queen with an impressive kingdom she had a particularly impressive throne. The throne she used to sit on was grand, splendid and decorated with all types of gems, pearls and gold - which should not compare to the throne of Allah. Allah's magnificent Throne is the Greatest ever as it surpasses any other throne possessed by any creature.

The name of the Queen is Bilqees and she was the Queen of Saba or Sheba, a city in Yemen. The bird then made an excuse for the people and the fact that they have been misguided but remain open to proper guidance.

Controversially, we discussed the famous hadith of the Prophet where he mentioned that a nation will never succeed that appoints a woman as its leader. This is not a prediction but legal instruction that, according to Islam, it is not permitted to have a female as the ruling leader for all the Muslims (nor in a specified position of ruling within the government (outside the scope of this discussion). This should not be misinterpreted that they cannot take positions of leadership within society but that they are barred from certain positions of ruling. The justice of this legal rule can be addressed at another point in time!

The Main Topic: The Resurrection

The first grave to open

Prophet Muhammad*, whose grave is in Medina, will be the first one whose grave will open up. The Prophet* says, “I am the leader of mankind on the day of judgement and I am the first one whose grave will open on the day of judgement.”

In another authentic hadith, a Muslim had a dispute with a Jew. The Jew said, “In the name of the One who revealed the Torah on Musa” so this Muslim hit him and started praising Muhammad*.

The hadith asks us not to get into competitions with the non-Muslims about who has the better leader as that will only distance them from Islam and make us less inclined to the other Prophets, hence: ‘do not say that I am better than Musa’? Obviously, the Prophet* did say in many ahadith that he is the leader of mankind. We believe that The Prophet* is the greatest of all of the Prophets, but the Prophet* does not want us to say that when we are in a conversation with a non-believer because we are just putting down the ambiya just to make the non-believer upset. The Prophets (ambiya) of Allah belong to this Ummah, not to anybody else. Musa belongs to the Ummah of Islam. That’s why when The Prophet* went to Medina and saw the Jews fasting, he asked why they were fasting, and they said, “This is the day in which Allah has saved Musa from Pharaoh.” The Prophet* said, “Musa belongs to us more than he does to them, so we should fast this day.”

In what condition will people will be resurrected?

So Allah is going to return you in the exact form when you were born – naked, barefoot and uncircumcised. Allah will bring you once again in your natural state.

Allah will restore the souls of His slaves, but they will be created anew, different from the way they were in the life of this world. One feature of this new creation will be that they will not die, no matter what trials befall them. For example, people will be able to see things that they could not see before. They will see the angels and the jinn, and other things which only Allah knows. Similarly, the people of Paradise will not spit, defecate or urinate.

Allah says: “And death will come to him from every side, yet he will not die…” (TMQ 14: 1 7) The Prophet* said “You know that you will be resurrected to (meet) Allah, then (you will go) to Paradise or to Hell, where you will settle and never leave, you will abide forever and never die, in bodies that will never die."'

This does not mean that those who are resurrected on the Day of Judgement will be an entirely different creation than they were in this world. Ibn Taymiyah said: "The two creations are two things of the same category, they are similar in one way and different in another."

Allah will assemble all creation

Allah will assemble everyone, whether this human was lost in the depths of the ocean or this human being was in the dungeons of the earth. Allah will bring them all together. Allah says: “[...] Wheresoever you may be, Allah will bring you together (on the Day of Resurrection). Truly, Allah is Able to do all things.” (2:148) Allah says, “We bought them together, we did not leave any one of them.”

Wherever you may be – even in outer space – Allah will bring you together, because all of this universe belongs to Allah. Even the animals will be included. Allah says, “When the wild beasts are herded together.” (81:5)

Abu Hurairah says, “On the Day of Judgment, Allah will assemble all of the creation: the beasts, the birds, even the insects - everything. And Allah will be Just on that day, because His Name is the Just (al ‘Adl). And of the justice of Allah, Allah will take revenge for the goat that did not have horns from the goat that did have horns.”

In this world, it could’ve been that the goat with horns took advantage of the goat without horns and hurt it. Abu Hurairah said that Allah will take revenge for that goat without horns. After every dispute is settled, then Allah will tell the beasts and animals to be dirt (turaab) and they would turn into dirt.

Allah says in the Qur’an, “And the non-believer will say, ‘I wish that I am dirt.’” The non-believer will wish they never lived or existed. This non believer who was so careful to save money and live in this money and enjoy himself; he will wish he were dirt.

Divergent topic: Non-believers and their actions:

The actions of the non-believers (kuffaar) are of two types. The first type includes actions which are evil and sinful, spreading corruption on earth, etc. These are all false and evil actions from which people can never hope for anything good or to earn any reward.

The second kind of actions are those which they think will earn them something from Allah, such as charity, freeing slaves, upholding ties of kinship, spending for good purposes. But Allah has coined likenesses of such actions in His Book.

The parable of those who disbelieved in their Lord is that their works are as ashes, on which the wind blows furiously on a stormy day; they shall not be able to get aught of what they have earned. That is the straying, far away [from the Right Path].” (TMQ 14: 18)

Hence Allah will make their deeds like scattered floating grains of dust: “And We shall tum to whatever deeds they [disbelievers, polytheists, sinners] did, and We shall make such deeds as scattered floating particles of dust.” (TMQ 25: 23)

This group, who think that they are following something good, will have a shock on the Day of Resurrection when they discover that their deeds are worthless. This group includes the devoted worshippers among the Jews and Christians, after the time of the Prophet*.

After all, the ultimate evil (unforgivable sin) is not to even believe in Allah!

22 February 2015: Prophet Dawud and between the Grave and the Hour

22 February 2015: Prophet Dawud* and between the Grave and the Hour

Lives of the Prophets: The Story of Prophet David* (Dawud)

Background

Ibn Katheer states: Prophet Dawud*, belongs to Judas, son of Jacob, son of Isaac, son of Abraham. He is Allah's servant, messenger and vicegerent in Jerusalem. As previously mentioned, when Prophet Dawud* killed Goliath. Bani Israel loved Prophet Dawud* and were attached to him. He succeeded Talut (Saul) as a king and Allah granted him prophethood as well. Thus, he became both a king and a prophet and a messenger.

Allah says: "And David slew Goliath; and Allah gave him power and wisdom and taught him whatever (else) He willed. And did not Allah check one set of people by means of another, the earth would indeed be full of mischief: but Allah is full of bounty to all the worlds." (TMQ 2:251) This means were Allah not to appoint kings to rule people, the strong amongst them would humiliate the weak. Thus it is reported, the king resembles Allah's shade on earth. The Caliph Uthmaan Ibn Affaan said, Allah establishes by means of the ruler what He may not establish by means of the Qur'an.

Miracles of Dawud
Allah says: "We bestowed Grace aforetime on David from Ourselves: 'O ye Mountains! sing ye the Praises of Allah with him, and ye birds (also)!' And we made the iron soft for him - (commanding), 'Make thou coasts of mail, balancing well the rings of chain armor, and work ye righteousness; for be sure I see (clearly) all that ye do." (Saba': 10-11)
Allah further says: "It was Our Power that made the hills and birds celebrate our praises, with David: it was We who did (all these things). It was We who taught him the making of coasts of mail for your benefit, to guard you from each other's violence: will ye then be grateful?" (AI Anbiyaa': 79-80)
Allah also says: "And remember Our servant David, the man of strength: for he ever turned (to Allah). It was We that made the hills declare in unison with him, Our praises, at eventide and at break of day, and the birds gathered (in assemblies): all with him did tum (to Allah). We strengthened his kingdom, and gave him wisdom and sound judgement in speech and decision. "(Saad: 17-20)

Dawud’s voice and Dhikr (with mountains and birds)
Allah has granted David a very pleasant voice. When he recited his Book, the Psalms, in a pleasant voice, the birds gathered in assemblies to recite with him and the hills declared in unison with him Allah's praises in the evening and at dawn. Once Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, passed by Abu Musa AI-Ashari at night while he was reciting the Qur'an. He (Abu Musa) had a very pleasant voice so the Prophet stopped to listen to his recitation and said, "He has been gifted with one of Prophet Dawud*'s psalms." Abu "Uthmaan An-Nahdi said: I have heard the lute and wood-wind instrument, but I have never heard a more pleasant voice than that of Abu Musa AI-Ashary.

Dhikr
We also talked about what it means for creation to worship Allah. Allah made the birds and mountains repeat the Dhikr of Prophet Dawud* in a fashion that people could comprehend and this was one of the many special miracles that was given to Prophet Dawud*. That aside, we must realise that the creation is in constant remembrance of Allah but in a fashion or a dimension that we cannot comprehend.

For example, it is mentioned in the Qur’an that the lightning glorifies Allah. But how can we perceive this and we talked about the scientific explanation behind the production of thunder and its relationship to the generation of lightning. And we compared this to somebody observing human beings whilst they were praying and the scientific explanation for the production of sound from the chest and vocal cords through the mouth is very different to standing the words meaning behind saying 'SubhanAllah' or 'Allahu Akbar'. The difference in perception around we see of creation and how reality it managed to glorify praise Allah.
Hence the importance of trying to undertake as much Dhikr of Allah as we can in addition to the obligatory times we do the form remembrance when we pray five times a day.

Dawud – Iron Man
We also talked about the miracle of Prophet Dawud* being able to mould iron with his bare hands - the original 'Iron Man'! Not only that we talked about how Allah taught him to make new technological advancements in military equipment and technology. This was the production of chainmail armour in a fashion that gave military superiority to the army of Prophet Dawud*. Before this, armour was mainly sheets of metal which reduced flexibility and was quite heavy. Following this new invention it was clear that the chainmail allowed the soldiers for greater flexibility in movement as well as being much lighter to wear.

Being thankful for technology
This raises the important discussion point around general advancements in technology and learning and how, despite seeing all the technological advancements in our civilisation today, we tend to attribute and acknowledge the source of the use as being the inventors and we fail to give any real credit to Allah for facilitating these inventions. For example, how was the first loaf of bread made!? Hence, in our everyday life we should be constantly thanking Allah for all the technology and advancements that we see around ourselves and use all the time. We should also be thankful for the gifts and the knowledge that we have. We briefly talked about the student undertaking a PhD thesis and acknowledging that all the benefit comes from Allah and any mistakes in this piece of work from himself. In addition, if we do have special gifts from Allah we should be thankful for these and grateful for these and not too boastful that any achievements that we receive through these gifts are purely personal and we should realise that it is only through Allah facilitating these achievements that we managed to achieve whatever we do actually achieve! Hence, passing exams is not solely through our own hard work but is related to Allah supporting as in that process and giving as the talents and abilities to achieve them.

Being thankful for knowledge
And the final point related to this is that all the knowledge that we have today is built upon knowledge from yesterday and the source of knowledge can be traced all the way back to Allah teaching Adam the names of everything. Hence, that is the source of all knowledge and we should be grateful for that. We have previously talked about this in greater detail when we talked about knowledge, source of knowledge and the feral child. This relates to the example of the first loaf of bread in civilisation many thousands of years ago!

•    Animals and Objects Speaking
There was a shepherd with his sheep. A wolf attacked and took one of the sheep. The shepherd followed it and took his sheep back. The wolf sat back, with his legs in the air – like a person – and said, “Itiqillah (fear Allah). You are taking away food from me that was sent to me by Allah.” The shepherd said, “What an amazing thing! A wolf sitting like a man and speaking to me!” The wolf said, “I will tell you something more amazing. The Prophet* is in Yathrib [what Medina was called at the time], and he is teaching the people about the nations before.” The shepherd, who was not Muslim at the time, went to Medina and went to The Prophet* and told him what happened. When they would land there, they will neither fight with weapons nor would shower arrows but would only say: “There is no god but Allah and Allah is the Greatest,” that one side of it would fall. Thaur (one of the narrators) said: I think that he said: “The part by the side of the ocean.” Then they would say for the second time: “There is no god but Allah and Allah is the Greatest” that the second side would also fall. And they would say: “There is no god but Allah and Allah is the Greatest” then the gates would be opened for them and they would enter therein and, they would be collecting spoils of war and distributing them amongst themselves that a noise would be heard and It would be said: “Verily, Dajjal has come.” And thus they would leave everything there and would turn to him. •    Destruction of the Ka’bah
The Prophet* said, “The ones who will transgress against the sanctity of Al-Ka’bah will be its people (meaning the Ummah).” No enemy can destroy the Ka’bah. The only transgression against it will be when this Ummah transgresses it. The Prophet* says, “When that happens, don’t ask about the perishing of the Arabs.” Then The Prophet* says, “Abyssinia would come and they would destroy al-Ka’bah and they would take out the treasures of the Ka’bah.”
•    Al-Mehdi
The Prophet* says that there will be one of your khulafaa` that will give out money without counting. Muslim and Imam Ahmad. Abu Sa’eed AlKhudri reported that the Prophet* said, “I am giving you the good news of Al-Mehdi, who will be sent to Ummah during times of disputes. And there will be a lot of earth problems. He will replace the oppression and injustice of the world with justice. And he will fill the hearts of the Ummah of Muhmmad* with satisfaction and content.”

The Major Signs of the Day of Judgment

The Prophet* says, “The major signs are deeds in a string. When the string is cut, all of them would fall down.” [Ahmad].

This hadith is in Muslim. These signs are not in chronological order. Hudhaifa ibn Usaid Ghifari reported: Allah’s Messenger (may peace be upon him) came to us all of a sudden as we were (busy in a discussion). He said: “What do you discuss about?” They (the Companions) said, “We are discussing about the Last Hour.” Thereupon he said: “It will not come until you see ten signs before and (in this connection) he made a mention of the smoke, Dajjal, the beast, the rising of the sun from the west, the descent of Jesus son of Mary (Allah be pleased with him), the Gog and Magog, and land-slidings in three places, one in the east, one in the west and one in Arabia at the end of which fire would burn forth from Yemen, and would drive people to the place of their assembly [the land of mahshar].” [Muslim]

•    Ad-Dajjaal
Narrated ibn ‘Umar: Once Allah’s Apostle* stood amongst the people and then mentioned the Dajjal saying, “l warn you against him (i.e. the Dajjal) and there was no prophet but warned his nation against him. No doubt, Noah warned his nation against him but I tell you about him something of which no prophet told his nation before me. You should know that he is one-eyed, and Allah is not one-eyed.” [Bukhari]
The Prophet* said: “I have told you so much about the Dajjal (Antichrist) that I am afraid you may not understand. The Antichrist is short, hen-toed, woolly-haired, one-eyed, an eye-sightless, and neither protruding nor deep-seated. If you are confused about him, know that your Lord is not one-eyed.” [Abu Dawood]
The Prophet* said that nothing from the time Adam was created until akhirah is a greater fitna than ad-dajjaal. Hudhaifa and Ibn Mas’ud met together. Hudhaifa said: I know more than you as to what there would be along with the Dajjal. There would be along with him two canals (one flowing with water) and the other one (having) fire (within it), and what you would see as fire would be water and what you would see as water would be fire. So he who amongst you is able to see that and is desirous of water should drink out of that which he sees as fire. [Muslim]
One day, The Prophet* talked about the ad-dajjaal so much, we thought that he was just outside of Medina. When we went to go meet The Prophet*, he knew that. He felt that we were worried. The Prophet* said, “What’s wrong with you?” They said, “You have talked about him so much – up and down- that he thought that he’s next to the palm trees of Medina.” The Prophet* said, “If he comes out and I am with you, then I’ll take care of him for you. If he comes out and I am not with you, then everybody is responsible for himself. And I ask Allah to protect every Muslim. He’s a young man and one of his eyes is bulging out. If you ever live to his time and see him, read on him the first ayah of surah al-Kahf.” That is the protection. Abu Darda’ reported Allah’s Apostle* as saying: “If anyone learns by heart the first ten verses of the Surah al-Kahf, he will be protected from the Dajjal.” [Muslim]
The Prophet* said that he will come out between ash-Shaam and Iraq, and he will corrupt the whole world, right and left. Then The Prophet* said, he will stay on earth for 40 days. One day is like a year; one day is like a month; one day is like a week and then the rest of his days are like your regular days.
The Prophet* said…. “He would appear on the way between Syria and Iraq and would spread mischief right and left. O servant of Allah! adhere (to the path of Truth).” We said: “Allah’s Messenger, how long would he stay on the earth?” He said, “For forty days, one day like a year and one day like a month and one day like a week and the rest of the days would be like your days.” We said: “Allah’s Messenger, would one day’s prayer suffice for the prayers of day equal to one year?” Thereupon he said: “No, but you must make an estimate of time (and then observe prayer).” We said: “Allah’s Messenger, how quickly would he walk upon the earth?” Thereupon he said: “Like cloud driven by the wind.
“He would come to the people and invite them (to a wrong religion) and they would affirm their faith in him and respond to him. He would then give command to the sky and there would be rainfall upon the earth and it would grow crops. Then in the evening, their posturing animals would come to them with their humps very high and their udders full of milk and their flanks stretched. He would then come to another people and invite them. But they would reject him and he would go away from them and there would be drought for them and nothing would be left with them in the form of wealth.
“He would then walk through the waste, land and say to it: Bring forth your treasures, and the treasures would come out and collect (themselves) before him like the swarm of bees. He would then call a person brimming with youth and strike him with the sword and cut him into two pieces and (make these pieces lie at a distance which is generally) between the archer and his target. He would then call (that young man) and he will come forward laughing with his face gleaming (with happiness)

How to Protect Yourself from Ad-dajjaal
  • Imaan.
  • Al Isti’aadah – Seek refuge in Allah from him. One of the du’aa that The Prophet* would say after Salah very frequently: ‘O Allaah, I take refuge in You from the punishment of the grave, from the torment of the Fire, from the trials and tribulations of life and death and from the evil affliction of the Al-Maseeh Ad-Dajjaal.’
  • Read the opening of Surah al-Kahf or the last part of Surah al-Kahf.
  • Avoiding him. The Prophet* said: “Let him who hears of the Dajjal (Antichrist) go far from him for I swear by Allah that a man will come to him thinking he is a believer and follow him because of confused ideas roused in him by him. [Abu Dawood]
No one will be able to fight him. AlMehdi will have no way of competing with him. He will be with the believers in Jerusalem, hiding with them in their forts. There will be no way for them to confront ad-dajjaal, until ‘Isa ibn Maryam (Jesus, son of Mary), descends. Then Isa ibn Maryam, just like Allah has given ad-dajjaal these supernatural abilities, Allah will give Isa a miracle and that is: he will have the power of killing ad-dajjaal by his vision. In one hadith, his vision, and in another, his breath. The vision and breath of Isa will be enough to make ad-dajjaal melt like a piece of ice melts. And that is a miracle that Allah will give Isa. In a hadith narrated by Ahmad, Isa ibn Maryam will kill ad-dajjaal at Baab-lud (in Palestine).

•     The Coming of Isa (Jesus)
The second sign, in terms of order, is the descending of Isa*. The location of the descending will be Damascus. The Prophet* pinpointed Damascus and said, next to the eastern white minaret. At the time, when The Prophet* said this, there wasn’t any masjid in Damascus; it was part of the Roman Empire; it was Christian. Nevertheless, The Prophet* said he [Isa] will descend next to the eastern white minaret in Damascus. Al-Masjid Al-Amawi is the biggest of the masaajid of Damascus.
“And he [Isa (Jesus), son of Maryam (Mary)] shall be a known sign for (the coming of) the Hour (Day of Resurrection) [i.e. 'Isa's (Jesus) descent on the earth]…”
The Prophet* says in another hadith: “What will your situation be when the son of Mary will descend amongst you and your Imam is from within yourselves?” Because when Isa arrives, he will walk in and the Muslims are about to pray – the ‘iqaamah was made in the masjid. When Al-Mehdi sees Isa, he will retreat and he will ask him (Isa) to lead the prayer. But Isa* will tell Al-Mehdi that the ‘iqaamah was made for you, therefore you lead the salah. This is a great honor for this Ummah – that Isa will pray behind one of the followers of Muhammad*. Obviously, after that Isa* will resume the responsibility, but at that time Al-Mehdi will led because the ‘iqaamah was made for him.
In At-Tirmidhi. The Prophet* says Isa ibn Maryam would descend next to the eastern white minaret of the masjid. He has two yellow garments, and he will be placing his two hands on the wings of angels.
There is a hadith in Muslim which says that after Ya`juj and Ma`juj: [...]Then Allah would send rain which no house of clay or (the tent of) camels’ hairs would keep out and it would wash away the earth until it could appear to be a mirror. Then [Allah would give order to] the earth would be told to bring forth its fruit and restore its blessing and, as a result thereof, there would grow (such a big) pomegranate that a group of persons would be able to eat that, and seek shelter under its skin and milch cow would give so much milk that a whole party would be able to drink it. And the milch camel would give such (a large quantity of) milk that the whole tribe would be able to drink out of that and the milch sheep would give so much milk that the whole family would be able to drink out of that and at that time Allah would send a pleasant wind which would soothe (people) even under their armpits, and would take the life of every Muslim and only the wicked would survive who would commit adultery like asses and the Last Hour would come to them. [Muslim]
In another hadith by Imam Ahmad, “The Prophets are half-brothers. Their religion is one, but their mothers are different. And Isa is the closest one to me because there is no prophet between me and him. And he would descend. When he comes down, know him. He is average height and he has fair skin and he will be wrapped in two garments which have a yellowish color. His hair looks as if it is wet and dripping with droplets of water, even though it’s dry. He will crush the cross. And he will rid the earth from pigs. And he will abandon jizya. And he would call all mankind to Islam. All of the religions, Allah will destroy them in his time, except for Islam.” The Prophet* says, he would stay for 40 years and then he would die and the Muslims would pray on him. He has to come down to earth, because Allah created us from this earth. We would live on this earth and die on this earth.

•    Yajuj and Majuj
Yajuj and Majuj [Gog and Magog] are two tribes. The Prophet* said, “On the day of Resurrection Allah will say, ‘O Adam!’ Adam will reply, ‘Labbaik our Lord, and Sa’daik.’ Then there will be a loud call (saying), Allah orders you to take from among your offspring a mission for the (Hell) Fire.’ Adam will say, ‘O Lord! Who are the mission for the (Hell) Fire?’ Allah will say, ‘Out of each thousand, take out 999.’ At that time every pregnant female shall drop her load (have a miscarriage) and a child will have grey hair. And you shall see mankind as in a drunken state, yet not drunk, but severe will be the torment of Allah.” (22.2) (When the Prophet mentioned this), the people were so distressed (and afraid) that their faces got changed (in color) whereupon the Prophet* said, “From Yajuj and Majuj nine-hundred ninety-nine will be taken out and one from you. You Muslims (compared to the large number of other people) will be like a black hair on the side of a white ox, or a white hair on the side of a black ox, and I hope that you will be one-fourth of the people of Paradise.” On that, we said, “Allahu-Akbar!” Then he said, “I hope that you will be) one-third of the people of Paradise.” We again said, “Allahu-Akbar!” Then he said, “(I hope that you will be) one-half of the people of Paradise.” So we said, “Allahu Akbar.”[Bukhari]

Some other hadith that talk about Yajuj and Majuj: [...] He ['Eesa] would then search for him (Dajjal) until he would catch hold of him at the gate of Ludd and would kill him. Then a people whom Allah had protected would come to Jesus, son of Mary, and he would wipe their faces and would inform them of their ranks in Paradise and it would be under such conditions that Allah would reveal to Jesus these words: “I have brought forth from amongst My servants such people against whom none would be able to fight; you take these people safely to Tur”, and then Allah would send Yajuj and Majuj and they would swarm down from every slope. The first of them would pass the lake of Tiberius and drink out of it. And when the last of them would pass, he would say: “There was once water there.” Jesus and his companions would then be besieged here (at Tur, and they would be so much hard pressed) that the head of the ox would be dearer to them than one hundred dinirs and Allah’s Apostle, Jesus, and his companions would supplicate Allah, Who would send to them insects (which would attack their necks) and in the morning they would perish like one single person. Allah’s Apostle, Jesus, and his companions would then come down to the earth and they would not find in the earth as much space as a single span which is not filled with their putrefaction and stench. Allah’s Apostle, Jesus, and his companions would then again beseech Allah, Who would send birds whose necks would be like those of bactrin camels and they would carry them and throw them where God would will. Then Allah would send rain which no house of clay or (the tent of) camels’ hairs would keep out and it would wash away the earth until it could appear to be a mirror. … [Muslim]

Qur’an tells us the story of Dhul-Qarnayn. He was a king who lived thousands of years ago: Until, when he reached between two mountains, he found, before (near) them (those two mountains), a people who scarcely understood a word. They said: “O Dhul-Qarnain! Verily! Yajuj and Majuj (Gog and Magog) are doing great mischief in the land. Shall we then pay you a tribute in order that you might erect a barrier between us and them?” He said: “That (wealth, authority and power) in which my Lord had established me is better (than your tribute). So help me with strength (of men), I will erect between you and them a barrier. Give me pieces (blocks) of iron,” Then, when he had filled up the gap between the two mountain-cliffs, he said: “Blow,” till when he had made it (red as) fire, he said: “Bring me molten copper to pour over it.” So they [Yajuj and Majuj] were made powerless to scale it or dig through it. Dhul-Qarnain) said: “This is a mercy from my Lord, but when the Promise of my Lord comes, He shall level it down to the ground. And the Promise of my Lord is ever true.” And on that Day [i.e. the Day Yajuj and Majujwill come out], We shall leave them to surge like waves on one another, and the Trumpet will be blown, and We shall collect them all together. [18:93-99]
